IBF Net, founded in 1999, was the first online community for sharing ideas among researchers and professionals in the field of Islamic business and finance. The same year, IBF Net also launched the first suite of certifications in Islamic finance that could be taken online. In 2012, the company moved to Malaysia and established its flagship, the International Institute of Islamic Business and Finance, with the mission to “leverage research and technology to build a halal ecosystem”. In 2020, IBF Digital Labs was founded in Singapore to develop platforms using Algorand blockchain protocol and AI.
