Pure Ocean Algae is an innovative biotechnology firm that links together different value networks utilizing macro-algae and other aquatic resources. During the winter of 2019/20, the company deployed its first trial lines of Palmaria palmata into the ocean, and the early results have been very encouraging. Additionally, the firm conducted primary research in tank-based vegetative production, and was able to establish a pilot commercial plant that can produce large amounts of Palmaria palmata, up to nearly 100% per week.
