The L’Arche Kilkenny Community started in 1978 when we officially opened Moorefield house supported accommodation, our first L’Arche house in the country! This was the beginning of L’Arche in Ireland and today, County Kilkenny has become home for our growing community of three residential houses; An Solas, LionDe and Moorefield along with four independent living houses (attached to An Solas) for each Core member.
Our houses are home to 14 people with an intellectual disability. We also offer a Day project, Culinary skills training and Horticulture opportunities. We enjoy celebrations big and small and love to share experiences together.
The L’Arche Ireland central Office is based in Callan, Co. Kilkenny.
