In 2014, John Browne founded Kastus, a surface innovation company, to address the need for reducing the spread of antibiotic-resistant infections caused by bacteria and fungi. After a decade of research and development, Kastus has developed a patented line of antiviral and antibacterial coatings that have been proven to kill >99% of harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, and superbugs, including human coronavirus. Additionally, the company has developed an innovative product designed to help businesses better protect their touchscreens, and have recently been awarded EU funding to develop a business solution to help fight Covid-19. Kastus’ headquarters and manufacturing are based in Ireland, and the company has earned numerous awards for their innovations.
